Nerve Macaspac is an Assistant Professor of Geography in the Department of Political Science and Global Affairs at the College of Staten Island, The City University of New York. He has studied community-led protection initiatives in the Philippines, Colombia and Mexico. Nerve coordinates Creating Safer Space activities that build research capacity and is particularly interested in researching ethnographic mapping for nonviolent (self-) protection.

Rachel Julian is a Professor of Peace Studies at Leeds Beckett University’s School of Social Sciences. She also has ample experience as UCP practitioner.
